Duo Arrested for Assaulting a Man Sitting Inside His Vehicle

ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) – A man and woman were arrested for assaulting a man with a firearm, authorities said.

The assault was reported in the parking lot of the Dollar General located at 11746 Air Expressway Road in Adelanto.

At about 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017, deputies responded to the business reference an assault that had just occurred.

According to Sheriff’s officials, the victims were sitting in their car in the parking lot when they were approached by the suspect.

“The suspect, a Hispanic male adult, was wearing a bandana over his mouth and immediately hit one of the victims in the head with a metal flashlight causing a 3” laceration,” stated a Sheriff’s press release.

“The victim got out of the vehicle to try and defend himself and the suspect pointed a gun at the victim and then ran. The suspect was last seen getting into a silver truck driven by a female.”

Deputies immediately started looking for the suspect vehicle. Deputy David Moyer located a truck matching the description provided by the victims in the area of Air Expressway and Stevens Street in Adelanto.

The truck, driven by Crystal Angela Strosnider, 31, a resident of Las Vegas had been reported stolen out of Nevada on May 15, 2017.

The passenger in the vehicle, Tony Angelo Martinez, 23, a resident of Adelanto who is a convicted felon, matched the description of the suspect who committed the assault.

A gun was located in the glove compartment of the truck.

Tony Martinez and Crystal Strosnider were arrested and are currently being held at the West Valley Detention Center.
