DUI Arrest Made Following Vehicle Crash into Gas Regulator Station

ADELANTO-(VVNG.com):  On February 16, 2015 at approximately 8:10 P.M., a report was made indicating a vehicle crashed into a gas regulator station in 12000 block of Stadium Way.

The reporting party also reported a strong smell of natural gas in the area of the crash.

Deputies arrived to a vehicle that had went off the roadway in the area of Adelanto Road near Rancho Road. Gas was believed to be leaking requiring a service call from Southwest Gas.

“Southwest Gas received the report at approximately 10:00 P.M., Technicians arrived and at 10:20, the area was secured and no gas leak was found,” said Southwest Gas spokeswoman, Sonya Headen.

21-year-old Alejandro Serepia, was driving the vehicle when it went off of the roadway.  The deputy observed signs of Serepia, the sole occupant, being intoxicated. Serepia suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene by American Medical Response personnel.

Serepia was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center on charges of driving under the influence and will be released to appear in court. No customers lost service as a result of the collision, According to Headen, Southwest Gas will be replacing the regulator station later this week.
