Driver of stolen vehicle causes accident in Victorville; 4 people injured

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) – At least one person was airlifted and several other’s were taken to various hospitals following a crash Monday morning.

At about 10:40 am, for reasons still under investigation, a 2000 Honda CR-V and a 2005 Dodge Caravan collided at the intersection of Hesperia Road and C Street in Victorville.

Following the impact, one driver was trapped and required extrication from the vehicle by San Bernardino County Firefighters.

Due to the injuries sustained, one medical helicopter and three ground ambulances were requested to the scene, scanner traffic reported. The crash left four people injured, two with critical injures and two others with minor injuries.

On Monday morning, Victor Valley News member Lynette Huston Mead, shared a post to the group reporting her Honda CRV was stolen from her driveway overnight. “I just got a call from the police department that was my car. The person was trying to get away from police,” stated Mead.

A stretch of Hesperia Road between B and D Streets remains closed while authorities investigate the incident. Sheriff’s officials have not said how long the roadway will remain closed for.
