Driver of Honda killed in crash on Bear Valley Road in Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. ( — At least one person was killed in a crash on Bear Valley Road Sunday night.

At 6:53 p.m., January 12, 2020, Deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station and emergency personal from the Apple Valley Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision on Bear Valley Road near Joshua Road.

The collision occurred in front of the Lone Wolf Colony Health Ranch Center and involved a silver Honda and a Dodge Ram that was hauling an off-road vehicle.

Firefighters pronounced the driver of the silver Honda deceased at the scene.

An occupant from the truck was transported to an out of area trauma center with non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies and firefighters searched the desert area for a possible baby after discovering a car seat inside of the mangled vehicle.

However, Deputies were not immediately able to confirm if there were any other victims.

Bear Valley Road is expected to remain closed for several hours between Central and Chipmunk Roads for the investigation and the arrival of the coroner.
