Driver killed in I-10 freeway crash ID’d as a 53-year-old Phelan man

PHELAN, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A driver killed in a crash on the I-10 freeway in Colton was identified by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office as David W. Oreba, a 53-year-old resident of Phelan.

On February 12, 2024, at approximately 2:45 p.m., Oreba was behind the wheel of a 1996 Toyota Camry traveling on I-10 eastbound, east of Mt.Vernon Avenue, at an unknown speed.

According to the California Highway Patrol, for reasons still under investigation, the driver veered right and struck a tractor-trailer.

As a result of the crash, Oreba was transported to a local hospital but later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by emergency personnel.
