
HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) The woman killed in Wednesday afternoons crash was identified by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office as Marylou Hernandez, 57, of Hesperia.
The deadly head-on collision was reported at 12:54 p.m., along US Highway 395, south of Main Street in Hesperia.
According to friends, Marylou was on her way to work at the Shell gas station less than four miles away from the crash.
Daniel Torres witnessed the horrific scene and immediately jumped in to aid the victims. According to Daniel, the 1998 Honda Accord was going north and the Dodge was going south when they collided head-on.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies arrived and found two sedans had struck head-on in the southbound lane of US 395, the coroner’s report stated.
Daniel said the impact caused the driver of the Dodge to be ejected from his vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Marylou’s Honda sustained major damage to the front end and passenger side causing her to suffer fatal injuries, she was pronounced dead the scene at 1:10 p.m.
A Porsche SUV with only minor damages was also involved in the crash. The driver was cleared to leave the scene after he was interviewed by deputies.
The Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team is continuing to investigate the collision.
