Suspect in custody after Thursday afternoon pursuit in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A man was taken into custody after leading authorities on a pursuit prompting a large police response Thursday afternoon.

At about 12:00 pm, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Regional Gang Team attempted a traffic stop on a white Ford Ranger traveling northbound on the I-15 near Main Street in Hesperia.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez told Victor Valley News, “The driver failed to yield and they pursued him, with the assistance of Victorville PD deputies, into Victorville. He exited the freeway at Roy Rogers Drive and was detained when deputies successfully conducted a PIT maneuver, in the 16000 block of Seneca Drive.”

The suspect, a described as a White Male Adult was taken into custody and his name has not yet been released.

Sheriff’s deputies searched along the center median of the 15 freeway, where the subject was seen throwing items from the vehicle during the pursuit.
