Driver arrested for DUI after crashing into parked vehicle and hitting a pedestrian in Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 57-year-old Apple Valley man was arrested for DUI on Saturday night after crashing into a parked vehicle and hitting a pedestrian.

It happened at about 6:00 pm, on January 6, 2024, in the 14100 block of Pawnee Road in the Town of Apple Valley.

Emergency personnel arrived on scene and located a black 2024 Honda Accord with rear-end damage and a black 2001 Chevrolet Suburban with front-end damage. A missing tire from the front passenger side of the Suburban was several feet away near the rear bumper of the Honda.

The pedestrian, a 24-year-old male from Pomona, was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Deputy K. Mullins investigated the collision and arrested the driver of the vehicle, Anthony Tyrone Davis, for VC 23153(b), driving under the influence causing bodily injury.

Davis was transported to High Desert Detention Center for housing, where he is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail. 

On Tuesday, January 8, 2024, the Victorville District Attorney’s Office filed felony charges of VC 23153(a), – driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage causing injury, VC 23153(b) – driving with at .08% blood alcohol content causing injury and misdemeanor VC 14601.2(a) – driving when privilege suspended or revoked for driving under the influence conviction.
