Driver arrested for DUI after car slams into a power pole and parked truck in Hesperia

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Residents in Hesperia were left without power for a short time after an alleged drunk driver slammed into a utility pole Saturday night.

It happened on October 27, 2019, at about 10:33 pm, on Seventh Avenue, near Eucalyptus.

A Ford Mustang was traveling south on Seventh Avenue when the driver lost control and crashed into a wooden utility pole, completely destroying the pole. The vehicle came to a stop after slamming head-on into a pick-up truck that was parked outside of a residence.

The driver of the Mustang was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Seventh Avenue is closed between Eucalyptus and Sycamore Street while SCE workers repair the damaged pole and lines.

No other injuries were reported.

The Hesperia Police Department is investigating the collision. Additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
