Victor Valley Global Medical Center to Host Flu Shots for 18+ in Drive-thru Clinic November 20th

 

vvchVICTORVILLE, CA –  (November 14, 2013)  –VVGMC will repeat the popular drive thru flu shot clinics for the 2013-14 flu season beginning Wednesday November 20th from 8am to 11am, or until vaccines run out.  The free flu vaccines will again be administered via drive-thru clinic at the main entrance driveway of the hospital on Eleventh Street.  One-hundred fifty (150) vaccines will be available.  Signs will be posted directing participants to the driveway entrance.

Victor Valley Global Medical Center is located at 15248 Eleventh Street in Victorville.  Adults who wish to receive the vaccine will take Hesperia Road North to B Street, then East on B Street to Eleventh Street and then South on Eleventh Street. Signs and traffic control will be available to direct traffic.

Adults who are currently ill, have had previous reactions to flu vaccines or have ever had Guillain-Barre syndrome will not be able to receive the flu vaccine. Adults with severe egg allergies should not receive the flu vaccine.  Vaccines are available on a first come, first served basis and will be administered only to adults ages 18 and older.  All participants will be screened by nursing staff before the flu vaccine will be administered.   At the discretion of nursing staff, some adults may be denied vaccine based upon screening criteria.

To confirm the availability of vaccines after November 20th clinic, please contact the VVGMC Community Relations Department of the hospital at 843-6190. The drive thru clinics is offered as another community healthcare event of Victor Valley Global Medical Center.
