VICTORVILLE(VVNG.com): A well-respected small business was the target of an attempted burglary and owner, Mark Labouef wants the man responsible caught to prevent from committing future burglaries.
At about 5:05 p.m. on Monday, August 3rd a man walked into the small office at the Mark and Nellie’s Nursery located on the 12800 block of Bear Valley Road near Topaz Road in Victorville.
Just minutes after the employee left at 5:00 p.m. a man entered the small office area of the Nursery and attempted to steal the contents of the register. The location, which was the target of a past burglary, has an alarm and surveillance cameras. This alarm turned what would have been a robbery, into only an attempted robbery when the alarm sounded about 15 seconds after the suspect entered.
When the alarm sounded, the suspect was startled and fled the scene. The alarm company notified Labouef, who initially thought it was a false alarm possibly set off by a cat. Upon entering the office in the morning he noticed the open register and upon checking the surveillance footage, he saw the suspect in his attempt to steal from the business.
“I hate the feeling of being burglarized. I would never take anything from anyone that’s why it is so frustrating I guess,” said Labouef.
The suspect, who from surveillance footage appears to be a black male adult possibly was driving a white Nissan or Toyota.
If anyone recognizes the suspect or know anything about this attempted burglary you are urged to contact Mark at 760-956-3900 or the Victorville Police Department at 760-241-2911.
