Homicide Investigating Body Found in Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY: According to a news release, on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at about 3:18 p.m., Sheriff’s dispatch was contacted by two off-road motorists reporting they had located a body in the remote area of Turtle Mountain in the unincorporated area of Apple Valley. Deputies from the Victor Valley Station responded to the area and confirmed the body to be a deceased male.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail responded to the location to conduct the investigation.
The victim was identified as Matthew Ray Arwood, age 39 of National City, CA. Investigators believe he was shot at an unknown location and brought to the area where he was recovered.
