It has been several years now since the mortgage meltdown took its toll on the local and world-wide economy. It left vacant homes, closed down businesses and spiked a whirl wind of uncertainty amongst the local residents.
Fast forward 5 years later… 2013. Sure there are still jobs that need to be filled and businesses that are struggling, but overall the economy is beginning to look bright and our consumer driven economy that thrives the local communities are beginning to rebound.
A definite sign of the improving conditions would be the influx of new local businesses opening up this year alone! (For example Hot Dog on A Stick, In-Shape, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Macy’s, FatBurger, Five Guys Burger, Ulta-Beauty, Wal-Mart — just to list a few.) Local residents will now have more places where they may not only shop, but also seek employment.
