Detectives searching for additional suspects involved in a shooting at Hook Park in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Detectives are searching for additional suspects involved in a shooting following a fight at Hook Park in Victorville earlier this month, officials said.

It happened on July 18, 2019, at approximately 12:15 am, when deputies were called to a disturbance call in the 15100 block of Pasture Road in Victorville.

Deputies responded to the location and disbursed the subjects from the location.

“At approximately 1:03 am, several subjects from the previous disturbance met at Hook Park in Victorville where physical fighting occurred between several of the females and males. The fighting escalated, and at least two subjects brandished firearms, and a shooting ensued,” stated a sheriff’s news release.

According to the release, the victims of the shooting fled in a vehicle which was struck several times by gunfire. The driver of the vehicle was struck by gunfire but was able to continue to drive away. While driving to a local hospital, the victims were involved in a traffic collision, with an unrelated vehicle, at Hook Blvd and Roy Rogers Drive.

The victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Detectives responded and through their investigation identified two involved suspects; Heather Chambers 22, a resident of San Bernardino and Davante McConnell, 25, a resident of Muscoy.

Chambers was arrested on July 24, 2019 and booked at Central Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon. McConnell was arrested on July 29, 2019 and booked at Central Detention Center for attempted murder and conspiracy to commit a crime.
