Detectives investigating the vandalism/tagging of swastikas in Wrightwood

WRIGHTWOOD, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Authorities are searching for a suspect or suspects responsible for tagging swastikas around Wrightwood.

On Tuesday, December 3, 2019, deputies received a report of swastikas being tagged at multiple residences in the area of Snowbird Rd. and Evergreen Rd., in Wrightwood.

Detective J. Collins and Deputy A. Hahalkin responded for the investigation.

According to a sheriff’s news release, “they located swastikas on three vehicles, on the garage door of a residence and on a stop sign. At the time of this release, they are still in the community of Wrightwood interviewing neighbors and following up on leads.”

Sheriff’s officials said this is believed to be an act of vandalism and tagging, and not a hate crime.
