UPDATE: The missing 89-year-old man was located and is back home safe.
PHELAN, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in locating an 89-year-old man reported missing Saturday afternoon in Phelan.
According to a written statement from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department , deputies responded at about 2:20 p.m., May 2, 2026, to a residence in the 9900 block of Valle Vista Road regarding a critical missing person.
The missing man was identified as Lonny Chrismon, described as an 89-year-old white male, standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds, with white hair and hazel eyes.
Authorities said Chrismon drove away from his residence and is considered at-risk due to “serious memory and cognitive challenges,” according to the statement.
He was last seen wearing a long-sleeve blue plaid shirt, black pants, white socks, and Velcro shoes.
Officials said he may be driving a white 2012 Ford Flex with a Minnesota Vikings trailer hitch cover.
