Deputies Conducting Vacate Order In Hesperia Locate 39-Year-Old Man Dead Inside Home
HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 39-year-old Hesperia man was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Wednesday morning after San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at a residence to conduct a lockout following a previously issued notice to vacate.
The incident occurred on May 6, 2026, at about 7:56 a.m., in the 17400 block of Sequoia Street in Hesperia.
According to a written statement from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, deputies from the Sheriff’s Civil Unit arrived at the home to “conduct a lockout and remove the residents from the home after a notice to vacate was previously issued.”
Deputies knocked on the door and received no response. As a maintenance worker unlocked the door, deputies “heard a sudden muffled noise inside the home,” according to the written statement.
Deputies then cleared the residence and located Christopher Eiselstein, suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical aid was requested, but Eiselstein was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded and assumed the investigation. Investigators “did not note anything suspicious and suspect the gunshot wound was self-inflicted,” according to the statement.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact the Specialized Investigations Division at 909-890-4904. Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call or text We-Tip at 844-909-3006.
