Death Investigation Conducted After Man Found In Parked Vehicle In Victorville
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Authorities are investigating the death of a man who was found unresponsive inside a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Victorville.
The incident was reported on April 29, 2026, at about 1:44 p.m., in the 15400 block of Dos Palmas Road, near Amargosa Road.
According to a written statement provided to VVNG by Victorville Police Department spokeswoman Socorro Cuevas, deputies responded to the area for a reported vehicle burglary in progress in front of Rancho Motors.
“Upon arrival, deputies located an unresponsive adult male inside a gray Chevrolet Equinox with an apparent injury,” Cuevas said.
Officials said the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and will determine the official cause of death. Dos Palmas Road at Amargosa Road was temporarily closed during the investigation.
Cuevas said homicide detectives were not requested to respond.
Authorities said the identity of the man has not yet been officially released, pending notification of next of kin.
A man who commented in the Victor Valley News Group on Facebook identified the deceased as his father, Paul Douglas York. In a separate post on his personal Facebook profile, he wrote, “My dad took his life today. I feel so hollow.” He also shared a photo of himself with his father.
