Dead Body Located in a Van Parked at an Apple Valley Shopping Center

APPLE VALLEY – The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a foul smell coming from a van located in the Apple Valley Winco parking lot. According to scanner traffic, the deputy arrived to find the door of the white van “cracked open”. Upon further inspection, he located a body in the vehicle parked on the 19400 block of Bear Valley Road.
According to an on scene witness that asked to remain anonymous, the body was that of an 50-60 year old male adult, possibly Hispanic or Middle Eastern. Per scanner traffic, the van was at that location since at least 12:00 on Monday, but other witnesses say it was there for about a week.
At this time, authorities believe the man may have lived in his vehicle and likely died of natural causes. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Trish Hill said that the man had known medical issues.
