Dead body found along National Trails Highway in Helendale

HELENDALE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Authorities are conducting a death investigation after a body was found in Helendale.

Sheriff’s officials were requested to respond to the scene after the discovery was made about 6:40 pm, on Thursday, July 26, 2018.

The body found is located in an open desert about a quarter-mile from the Helendale Market in the 26000 block of National Trails Highway.

“We responded and found one person deceased and turned the scene over to the sheriff’s department,” stated San Bernardino County Fire spokesman Eric Sherwin.

According to Sherwin, it appears the body has been there for a while and there is no information on the gender.

Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Cindy Bachman told Victor Valley News, they are conducting a death investigation and no further details were available.
