Dead Baby Found Near Colton Trash Can

COLTON-(VVNG.com): The Colton Police Department is requesting assistance with any information that will lead to the mother of an infant that was found dead by a Colton trash bin.The body of the baby boy was found wrapped in a blanket, by a woman walking her dog at about 11:36 a.m. on Friday, January 2nd.
The body of the baby boy was located in the 900 block of North 7th Street in Colton. Upon arrival the officers were pronounced the tiny baby dead at the scene. It is believed that the infant was left between 11:30 PM on Thursday, January 1st to 11:30 AM on Friday, January 2nd.
The case is being investigated as a potential homicide, anyone with any information is asked to call the Colton Police Department Det. Wilson at (909)370-5021.
As always, it is important to share that the Safe Surrender for Newborns law allows a distressed parent who is unable or unwilling to care for a newborn baby to legally, confidentially and safely surrender the baby to an employee at any hospital or fire station. This law was created in honor of the countless babies who have lost their lives to newborn abandonment.
