Daughter arrested for attacking and trying to kill her mother in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. ( — Nortashia Weathersby, 23, of Victorville was arrested for attempted murder after she allegedly threatened to kill her mom with a knife, officials said.

It happened on January 11, 2019, a the Mountain Vista Apartments in the 15400 block of Nisqualli Road in Victorville.

According to a sheriff’s news release, at about 8:20 am, deputies arrived and learned that the Nortashia had entered her mother’s bedroom and took her wallet.

“The victim attempted to get her wallet back, and Weathersby began attacking her. The victim was able to lock herself in the bedroom. Weathersby retrieved a knife and attempted to get through the door while threatening to harm her mother,” stated the release.

Police arrived on scene and arrested Nortashia for attempted murder and threatening crime with intent to terrorize. She is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on January 15, 2019.
