Donna Graner, owner of Cross Eyed Cow Pizza, was nominated to be on the Roadshow by customer Debra Mockler. “The best pizza in the high desert,” Mockler wrote in her nomination. “The ingredients are fresh and the staff is always friendly. It is definitely a hidden gem.”

Located on Route 66, Cross Eyed Cow Pizza sports eclectic decor including a rooftop cow, tandem bicycle, and windmill. Cowhide-patterned booths, bucket lights, and an outdoor covered patio add to the ambience.

The tidy, minimalist space has paneled walls and a walk-up counter to order. The menu features an array of Mexican dishes, sandwiches, and breakfast items, and daily specials are posted on social media.

Braun-Adams says her dream has become a reality. She came to the area at age two, learning to cook from her mother and grandmother, and became known at a previous career and at church for her potluck supper coordination, special recipes, and cooking for friends as part of what she called the “taco lady underground”.
