Creative Works Sought for Teen Art Festival

APPLE VALLEY: Students ages 13 to 18 are invited to submit their original works of art for participation in this year’s Teen Art Festival, an annual program of the Town of Apple Valley’s Parks and Recreation Department.
The event is free to enter and has seven categories:
- Drawing (black and white)
- Drawing (color)
- Painting
- Sculpture
- Photography (landscape and still life)
- Photography (people and animals)
- Digital art
“This event keeps getting bigger and better each year,” said Alicia Dannelley, recreation coordinator in charge of the festival. “The quality of the artwork that comes in is outstanding.”
Participation is open to teens in the Victor Valley. Artwork must be accompanied by the entry form that is available at www.AppleValley.org and submitted at Town Hall by 5 p.m. on March 6. Five Best of Show and five People’s Choice trophies are awarded in addition to ribbons and prizes in multiple categories. Judging takes place prior to the art showcase that is open to the public on Saturday, March 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
