Crash Shuts Down Highway 395; Toddler Airlifted

UPDATE @10:00PM – Northbound traffic on Highway 395 was reopened at 10pm.

ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) A 16-month-old toddler was airlifted following a two vehicle traffic collision on Highway 395 Friday night.

At about 8:00 pm, dispatch received reports of a crash on US Highway 395 south of Air Expressway in Adelanto.

When deputies arrived they located a 2001 Chevy Metro with rear end damage and a black sedan with front end damage.

The Chevy came to a stop along the shoulder of the northbound side of 395 and the black sedan came to a stop in the southbound lane of Highway 395.

A 16-month-old toddler from the Chevy was airlifted to Loma Linda Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Authorities have shut down Highway 395 in both directions between Air Expressway and Rancho Road for an unknown duration.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
