Crash in Phelan sends woman to hospital Sunday morning

PHELAN, Calif. (VVNG.com) Traffic on a stretch of westbound Palmdale Road in Phelan was temporarily slowed down following a crash that occurred here Sunday.

Reported at 11:08 a.m., on July 1, the collision was first dispatched as a crash that caught fire at the intersection of Palmdale Road and Lessing Avenue.

When San Bernardino County Fire personnel arrived on scene, they located two vehicles with major damage, a red Jaguar and a white Camry. A third vehicle, a brown Camry, crashed into a dirt berm while trying to avoid the collision.

The driver of the white Camry, a 37-year-old female of Apple Valley, sustained minor injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

According to witnesses at the scene, all three vehicles were traveling westbound on Palmdale when the incident occurred.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol’s Victorville Division.
