PHELAN, Calif. (VVNG.com) A Phelan couple is behind bars after authorities found them in possession of multiple firearms.
On Thursday, May 11, 2017, at approximately 3:34 pm, deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station observed a suspicious vehicle driving in the Phelan area.
The driver of the vehicle drove away at a high rate of speed.
Deputies located the vehicle unoccupied parked in front of a residence in the 11100 block of Nevada Road in Phelan, according to a Sheriff’s press release.
Concerned for the safety of the occupant’s deputies decided to approach the residence. That’s when Terence Michael Powers, 35, a resident of Crestline and Qurina Suzanne Bowers, 42, a resident of Phelan were located hiding inside.
“The homeowners did not know the suspects and they entered the residence without permission,” stated authorities.
A search of the suspect’s vehicle led deputies to the recovery of stolen and illegal firearms.
Terence Powers and Qurina Bowers were arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for a Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Illegal Possession of an Assault Weapon, and Burglary. Powers is being held without bail and Bowers is being held in lieu of $125,000 bail.
