Couple arrested for theft of a car hauling trailer from Apex Rentals in Hesperia

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Deputies from the Sheriff’s Rural Crime Task Force arrested two suspects for the theft of a car hauling trailer, officials said.
On Tuesday, April 9, 2019, deputies responded to the report of a stolen trailer which had been rented from Apex Rentals in Hesperia, officials said.
Through their investigation, Deputies Rob Oakleaf and Randy Stanley identified Edward Filley, 36, a resident of Rialto, as a possible suspect of the theft.
The stolen car hauling trailer was recovered in Lake Isabella, CA on April 11, 2019.
“The person who unknowingly purchased the trailer attempted to have it registered at a local DMV where it was flagged as stolen,” stated sheriff’s officials in a news release.
This victim of fraud was able to positively identify Edward Filley and Jeannette Shnyder, 36, a resident of Hesperia, as the suspects who sold him the stolen trailer.
