According to a release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department on February 25, 2014, Hesperia Deputy Jody Watson initiated a traffic stop on a pick-up truck matching a suspect vehicle description in a local burglary.
The driver, identified as Phillip Stark, 42, Victorville, was in possession of several baggies of suspected methamphetamine, a digital scale, a large bag of mail belonging to multiple businesses and burglary tools. Deputy Watson was able to secure a search warrant for Stark’s residence located in the 15000 block of Topango Road in Victorville.
Hesperia Detective Osvaldo Pelayes responded to assist in the investigation. Detective Pelayes and Detectives from the Hesperia Station executed the search warrant at the suspect’s residence. At the home they contacted Stark’s girlfriend, Kelly King, 43, Victorville, and found stolen checks and property linking both to commercial burglary and mail theft.
Phillip Stark was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for PC496, possession of stolen property and HS11378, possession of controlled substance for sales and his bail was set at $50,000.
Kelly King was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for PC496, possession of stolen property and her bail was set at $25,000.
