Coroner ID’s man found deceased along National Trails Highway in Helendale

HELENDALE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased male found along National Trails Highway in Helendale last month.
The deceased was identified as Jose Alfredo Ruiz, 34, a transient out of Barstow. He was discovered in an open desert about a quarter-mile from the Helendale Market on Thursday, July 26, 2018.
Tony Campisi with the Coroner’s Division told Victor Valley News foul play was not suspected.
“The cause of death has not been determined and we are waiting for toxicology reports which could take months,” stated Campisi.
