Coroner ID’s Man Who Drowned in Silver Lakes

SILVER LAKES, Calif. (VVNG.com) The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified the man who drowned in Silver Lakes Saturday.

The body of Kevin Stevens, 38, of Helendale, was recovered Sunday afternoon from the water by the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department Dive Team.

At about 7:30 pm, Saturday, Stevens, and his family were boating in the portion of the lake commonly known as North Lake, while preparing to enjoy the annual 4th of July celebration.

Authorities say Stevens jumped into the water from the boat and never resurfaced. An extensive search was conducted and the following morning divers pulled his body from the water.

A Gofundme account has been created to help the Stevens family with donations as they deal with making funeral arraignments.

“Lauren and Kevin were together for 17 years and throughout their years together they have created one of the most beautiful/loving families that we have ever known,” stated the Gofundme.

Kevin was the sole provider for his family and leaves behind six children ranging in ages from 3-14 years old, according to the Gofundme.

“Please say an extra prayer for the six beautiful children that have had their hearts broken into tiny little pieces. They are the most amazing children and they have lots of us that love them,” said Ron Stevens via a post in the Facebook group Life in Helendale/Silver Lakes,CA.

Anyone wishing to help the family with donations can donate to The Stevens Family Gofundme.
