
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) The San Bernardino Coroner’s Office has identified the body recovered from the CA Aqueduct as 19-year-old Erich Pearce, a resident of Wrightwood.
On Thursday, June 8, 2017, at about 8:40 p.m. a bicyclist riding along the aqueduct called 911 reporting a body floating face down in the waters.
The bicyclist followed the body for several miles along the aqueduct while communicating with dispatchers. San Bernardino County Fire along with San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies located the deceased man near Highway 395 and Eucalyptus.
The body was later removed from the water by the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Dive Team.
According to Pearce’s Facebook profile, on May 4, 2017, he had enlisted with the Airforce and was a former ski lift operator at Mountain High.
The coroner’s office has not provided any information into the manner of death. The investigation is being handled by the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department.
