Coroner Identifies Three Occupants Of Honda Odyssey Killed In SR-18 Crash In Pinon Hills
PINON HILLS, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office has identified the three occupants of a Honda Odyssey who were killed in a head-on crash Saturday night in Pinon Hills.
The deceased were identified as driver Javier Hernandez Ramirez, a 58-year-old resident of Pacoima; passenger Marisela Orozco, a 51-year-old resident of Pacoima; and passenger Alfredo Orozco, an 18-year-old resident of Covina. All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, according to coroner officials.
According to a written statement from the California Highway Patrol Victorville station, officers were dispatched at approximately 7:50 p.m. on May 9, 2026, to a two-vehicle crash on eastbound SR-18, east of Minero Road, in an unincorporated area of San Bernardino County.
CHP officers and San Bernardino County Fire personnel arrived and located a black Jeep Wrangler on the south shoulder of SR-18 and a silver Honda Odyssey blocking the eastbound lane of the highway.

Authorities said all three deceased victims were trapped inside the Honda Odyssey.
According to CHP, three additional occupants from the Honda Odyssey survived the crash and were transported to hospitals for treatment.
San Bernardino County Fire crews determined two of those patients suffered critical injuries, one of whom required extrication. Both critically injured patients were airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center after Mercy Air and Reach air ambulances landed at the scene.
The third surviving occupant was transported by ground ambulance.

Officials said the driver of the Jeep Wrangler sustained major injuries and was transported to St. Mary Medical Center for treatment.
The preliminary investigation revealed the Jeep Wrangler was traveling westbound on SR-18 while the Honda Odyssey was traveling eastbound. CHP officials said the Jeep crossed into the eastbound lane directly in front of the Honda, causing a head-on collision.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash, according to CHP officials.

SR-18 was closed in both directions while emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene.
Firefighters initially cleared the incident after all patients were transported but later returned to assist the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office with recovering the deceased. The roadway reopened at about 5 a.m. Sunday.
The crash remains under investigation by the CHP Victorville station. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Officer C. Jeffrey #23623 at the CHP Victorville station at (760) 241-1186.

GoFundMe To Support Paola Hernandez’s Family After Tragedy:
A GoFundMe campaign titled Support Paola Hernandez’s Family After Tragedy was created by Alondra Esquivel to help the surviving family members affected by the crash.
According to the campaign organizer, Paola Hernandez and her siblings were also inside the Honda Odyssey during the collision. The fundraiser states Paola’s father, Javier Hernandez Ramirez, was driving the vehicle while her mother, Marisela Orozco, was seated in the front passenger seat.
The campaign also states Alfredo Orozco, who died in the crash, was Paola’s cousin.

The organizer wrote that Paola and her siblings suffered broken bones and underwent surgery following the collision.
The fundraiser says the money raised will help cover funeral expenses for Javier Hernandez Ramirez and Marisela Orozco, along with medical expenses for the surviving family members as they recover from their injuries.
“Paola’s parents were wonderful people who, despite not having much themselves, always helped others in need,” the organizer wrote. “Their love for each other was so strong that only God knew to take them together.”

GoFundMe Created For Alfredo Orozco’s Funeral Expenses:
Another GoFundMe campaign titled Support for Alfredo’s Funeral Expenses was created by Nineth Orozco, who identified herself as Alfredo Orozco’s sister.
According to the fundraiser, Alfredo had just graduated from a short program on the day of the crash, and the family had been celebrating the accomplishment before the collision occurred.
“Alfredo was a loving son, brother, nephew, and friend to so many people,” Nineth Orozco wrote in the campaign description. “He was only 18 years old and had so many dreams, goals, and a whole life ahead of him.”

The fundraiser states six family members were involved in the crash while traveling to celebrate Mother’s Day together when a wrong-way driver allegedly caused the collision. The campaign says Alfredo, his aunt, and his uncle were killed, while three other family members suffered serious injuries and remain hospitalized in stable condition.
The fundraiser was created to help cover Alfredo Orozco’s funeral expenses and support the family during their recovery.
“Thank you for your kindness, prayers, love, and support,” the organizer wrote. “Our family truly appreciates it more than words can say.”
