Convicted felon from Hesperia attempts to visit female friend in jail and gets arrested for drugs

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 36-year-old previously convicted felon from Hesperia was arrested again, this time after he attempted to visit a female friend in jail.

The suspect, James Wesley Davey, was arrested on Thursday, January 9, 2019, shortly after his arrival at the Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center located in the 18000 block of Institution Road in San Bernardino.

According to a sheriff’s news release, “while checking in for his visit, Davey, was found to be a convicted felon, had a suspended California Driver’s License and was out on bail for a previous felony arrest.”

Officials said Davey consented to a search of his vehicle, which was parked in the jail visitor parking lot, and deputies located marijuana, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and an open container of alcohol inside.

Davey was arrested and booked at Central Detention Center in San Bernardino for PC4573 Possession of a Controlled Substance on Jail Property, PC4571 Convicted Felon on Jail Property, and PC 12022.1 New Offense While Out on Bail. Booking logs showed he was released on bail and has no court appearance scheduled.
