Convicted felon arrested after foot pursuit in Adelanto, loaded gun with silencer recovered

ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 22-year-old previously convicted felon is back in jail after he attempted to ditch drugs and a loaded gun during a foot pursuit with deputies in Adelanto.
On Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 6:46 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a man with a gun in the area of Bartlett Avenue and Bellflower Street
The caller was able to provide deputies with a description of the suspect.
During a check of the area, Deputy J. Mora from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station located a subject, identified as Salvador Ramirez, in the area fitting the description of the suspect, officials said.
According to a news release, “Ramirez ran from Deputy Mora, throwing items out of his backpack while running.”
After a brief foot pursuit, Ramirez continued to resist arrest but was eventually handcuffed and taken into custody.
“One of the items Ramirez threw from his backpack was a loaded handgun and firearm suppressor (silencer). Methamphetamine and Cocaine were located inside his backpack. Ramirez was under the influence of narcotics at the time of his arrest,” stated the release.
Salvador Ramirez, who is on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and a documented gang member, was booked at High Desert Detention Center where he is being held without bail.
