Collaboration Leads to a Seizure of Weapons and Drugs

HIGHLAND: On Wednesday, October 1, 2014, deputies and detectives from the Highland Police Department in collaboration with detectives from the Redlands Police Department conducted an investigation into a 21-year-old female who went missing from a local tavern in the City of Redlands. Through investigation, 27-year-old Isaias Taylor Gomez, a resident of Colton was identified as a person of interest.
Detectives from both agencies served a search warrant at Gomez’s home on the 1300 Block of 10th Street in the City of Colton. During that search warrant, they located a large amount of cocaine, a large amount of US Currency, several handguns, rifles, shotguns, including an illegal AR-15 Assault Rifle.
Gomez was arrested on Possession of assault weapon, possession of cocaine for sales, possession of loaded gun while possessing narcotics and booked into the Central Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of $500,000 Bail.
The missing 21-year-old female was safely located later in the day at a home in the City of Fontana. The investigation continues in regards to her initial disappearance.
