City of Victorville will launch newly designed website this week

VICTORVILLE, Calif. – By the end of this week, the City of Victorville will debut its new website at victorvilleca.gov. Visitors to the new website will be greeted by a whole new look and feel and a more robust, customer-friendly experience.
“We decided to redesign our website to give it a more modern, fresh appeal; but more importantly to make it easier for our citizens to navigate and find information,” says Victorville Mayor, Gloria Garcia.
The City is leveraging new technology to improve the user experience. For example, the new website automatically adjusts for easier use on mobile phones and handheld devices. The website also takes advantage of fillable forms, so citizens can report problems like potholes and graffiti directly via the website to add convenience and save time.
Development of the website began about a year ago when the City deployed heat mapping to track which information was most utilized on the current website. The City also sought community input through an online survey. Staff used these tools to arrange information on the new website so it’s easy to find. Graphic buttons and an action center provide quick access to the most needed information directly from the site’s homepage.
“In addition to all of the features designed to improve navigation and ease of use, we were very purposeful about including information and pictures that communicate Victorville’s vibrance, strengths, and dominance as the economic engine of the High Desert,” added Mayor Garcia. “We invite the community to visit our new website and offer feedback.”
Located in Southern California at the high-point between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Victorville is the leading city for both industry and retail in the High Desert region. Victorville is a growing, vibrant community that is home to approximately 125,000 residents and some of the area’s largest employers. Clean air, abundant mountain vistas, family-friendly recreational activities, spectacular sunsets and breathtaking night skies entice locals and visitors alike to fall in love with this city that is within a few hours of SoCal beaches, National Parks, mountain retreats, other major attractions, and Ontario International Airport.
