CHP to hit Highway 395 hard during traffic enforcement operation

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) – The California Highway Patrol announced upcoming plans to conduct several traffic enforcement operations specifically targeting US Highway 395.

CHP – Mojave said in a Facebook post they will be working in conjunction with the Victorville and Barstow CHP stations to conduct heavy enforcement in various parts of the Mojave area.

“We will be utilizing several types of vehicles to conduct this level of enforcement. Look for black and white or all white Ford Explorers, Dodge Chargers, commercial enforcement trucks, motorcycles, aircraft and possibly a couple unmarked vehicles,” stated the Facebook post.

The first detail will happen on February 27, 2019, in various locations along highway 395 or more commonly referred to as “blood alley.”

CHP officials said they will be conducting heavy enforcement of all violations, but with a focus on “primary collision factors” such as;

  • Speed
  • Unsafe passing
  • Passing over double yellow lines
  • Following to close, yielding to oncoming traffic
  • “Seatbelt compliance” – including drivers, passengers, child safety seats and more
  • And more

CHP reminds the public to please slow down, buckle up, put down the phone, and enjoy the drive. Be kind to everyone else on the road.
