CHP searching for hit-and-run driver after woman fatally struck twice on I-15

VICTORVLLE, Calif. ( — A woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run motorist in Victorville Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.

At about 5:16 am, the woman was walking southbound on the I-15 freeway in the number three lane, north of Palmdale Road when she was struck by a black tractor-trailer combination vehicle. Officials said the tractor-trailer continued south on Interstate 15 leaving the scene of the accident.

“The female was propelled through the air where she was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado,” CHP officials said. The driver of the Chevrolet pulled into the center median, stopped, and waited for CHP to arrive.

Officers arrived on scene and located the deceased female lying within the number one lane prompting them to close the number one and two lanes for the collision investigation.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office.

This is the second hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian within the same area of the I-15 freeway in about a month. On August 19, 2018, Barbara Langlois, 63, of Victorville was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle pulling a utility trailer that also fled the scene. CHP is continuing to search for that vehicle and trailer that would have sustained major damage.

This fatal collision is being investigated as a Felony hit and run. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Strout with the Victorville CHP officer at (760)241-1186.
