UPDATE: I-15 freeway near Baker reopens after full closure

UPDATE @ 3:40 pm — All lanes are OPEN and CHP units are escorting traffic through to keep the speeds down, officials announced in a tweet.
BAKER, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The Barstow California Highway Patrol has shut down the I-15 freeway in both directions near Baker due to heavy snowfall.
At about 12:10 pm, Barstow CHP posted on Facebook about the closure. “We currently have a full closure of the I-15 northbound and southbound lanes from Baker
Approciamtely 1 hour prior to the closure CHP shared a photo warning of ice on the roadway along the I-15 near Bailey Road.
“Be prepared for snow and ice as you head through the Mountain Pass area. Caltrans it out with plows and CHP units are making sure everyone takes it slow,” stated the post.
CHP officials said there is currently no estimated time of when the freeway will reopen.
