Child airlifted after crash on Mariposa Road in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A young boy was airlifted to a trauma center following a crash in Victorville Friday.

The crash was reported at 3:16 p.m. on Mariposa Road near the entrance/exit of the Vallarta shopping center near Tilted Kilt.

Upon arrival, emergency crews located two vehicles with damage, a silver 2014 Toyota Camry and a black Nissan sedan.

According to a preliminary investigation, deputies determined that the black vehicle was traveling northbound on Mariposa Road and the silver Camry was exiting the parking lot when the two collided.

Victorville Deputies shut down both directions of Mariposa Road for about an hour for an investigation and for a Mercy Air helicopter to land at the scene.

The boy is expected to survive his injuries, authorities told Victor Valley News.
