Cause of fire at Iron Hog Saloon in Oro Grande under investigation

ORO GRANDE, Calif. — Firefighters with San Bernardino County Fire respond to an early morning fire at the Iron Hog Saloon in Oro Grande.

At approximately 5:40 am, on Friday, May 25, 2018, firefighters were dispatched to a commercial structure fire in the 20000 block of National Trails Highway.

First units arrived in 20 minutes and found an unoccupied single story building with smoke showing from the front and fire from the roof. Firefighters quickly made entry into the building and found fire in the bar area, as well as extension into the attic.

The building was quickly searched and found to be clear for any potential trapped victims. Truck crews assisted with ventilation from the roof above which cleared conditions for interior crews suppression efforts. County firefighters had the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes.

One truck company, four engines, one chief officer, and one investigator totaling 17 personnel responded to the incident. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters reported. Damage estimates are still being compiled, and the cause remains under investigation.
