CAJON PASS, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A car that caught fire in the Cajon Pass Saturday evening was quickly extinguished.

San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the fire that was reported just after 6:30 p.m. on the northbound 15 Freeway at the Cleghorn offramp.

According to CHP logs, it was a black Lexus on the right shoulder with flames seen coming from the engine compartment.

The logs indicate that a Good Samaritan pulled over and attempted to put the fire out with an extinguisher.

Once fire personnel arrived, they were able to contain the fire to the vehicle and a small patch of vegetation.

No injuries were reported. The Cleghorn offramp from the NB 15 Freeway is closed at this time for an unknown duration.
