CAJON PASS-(VVNG.com): Hauling, paving, and K-rail installation will continue on the I-15 through the Cajon Pass. Construction is moving forward as expected and to end in the area from Blue Cut, just south of Cleghorn Road to the split just 1.5 miles north of SR-138 by the early morning hours of June 23rd.
Caltrans officials say that the northbound traffic will be switched to the new concrete pavement and the Cajon Truck Scales will be opened. A truck bypass lane going northbound at Oak Hills Road will be in place until July 2nd, but the Oak Hills Road ramps will remain open.
The nights of Sunday, June 21st from 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 a.m. and Monday, June 22nd through Thursday, June 25th from 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 a.m. there will be some northbound alternating lane closures from Kenwood Avenue to Oak Hills Road. Drivers will not need to detour, as there will always be open lanes of traffic. The alternating lane closures for southbound traffic is as follows: There will be southbound closures between Oak Hills Road and Kenwood Avenue on Sunday, June 21st from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. and Monday, June 22nd through Thursday June 25th from 6:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. No detour is necessary for these alternating lane closures as there will be lanes of traffic open. If you are driving between these times, be sure to allow extra time for any delays due to the closures.
Alternating ramps will be closed between June 21st through June 25th. The northbound and southbound connector to Hwy. 138 both on and off ramps will be closed from Sunday, June 21st until Thursday, June 25th from 8:00 p.m. through 6:00 a.m. Drivers can exit Cleghorn road to the I-15 north to Highway 138 or use the Oak Hills road exit to I-15 South to Hwy. 138.
From June 21st until June 25th (8:00 p.m. through 6:00 a.m.) expect closures of the on and off ramp connectors to and from eastbound and westbound Hwy. 138. The Hwy. 138 ramp to the southbound 1-15 ramp will remain open. For southbound off ramp closure use Cleghorn road detour. For northbound off ramp closure use Oak Hills Road. For northbound on-ramp closures, take 15 southbound to the Cleghorn Exit then turn left to the northbound on ramp.
The Cleghorn road on and off ramps will experience closures from Sunday, June 21st to Thursday, June 25th from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. For the on ramp, use the Kenwood on ramp in Devore. For the off ramp, use the northbound 138 exit, go left to southbound 1-15 on ramp, exit Cleghorn Avenue, exiting southbound.
The Oak Hills northbound on and off ramps will experience closures from Sunday, June 21st through Thursday, June 25th from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Drivers can use the northbound Ranchero Road exit, go left to the southbound I-15 on ramp and exit Oak Hills Road southbound.
