Cajon Pass Traffic Alerts For the Week of November 1st to November 7th

CAJON PASS-(VVNG.com): The Cajon Pass project is continuing with construction crews continuing day and night work for the southbound lanes and shoulder reconstruction. Caltrans officials said that concrete removals and paving will continue throughout the week. Lane Crossovers will be installed for about 1 ½ miles from just south of Ranchero Road to just south of Oak Hill Road. These lane crossovers are expected to be in place for about 4 more weeks ending around November 20th.
As always, Caltrans would like to remind drivers that Commercial vehicles, vehicles pulling trailers, or busses are not allowed in the crossover. Lanes will be narrow and there will be limited areas to pull over, so vehicles that may need to utilize the shoulder should remain on the main lanes. The 60 mile per hour speed limit in the construction area will be strictly enforced.
Northbound I-15 just north of Highway 138 a traffic 2 lane split will be implemented and will remain in place for about 3 weeks during lane reconstruction. CHP officials said that on the mornings of Saturday, November 7th and Sunday, November 8th there will be a 2 lanes closure in the same vicinity.

Alternating ramp closures are expected on the Southbound 138 on and off ramps from Monday, November 2nd through Friday, November 6th from 8:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. For the off-ramp detour, drivers can take the southbound I-15 to Cleghorn Road, turn left and merge onto northbound I-15 and exit highway 138. For the on-ramp detour, drivers can continue on northbound I-15 and exit Oak Hill Road, turn left and merge onto the southbound I-15.
