CAJON PASS-(VVNG.com): Lane reconstruction work will continue on the northbound and southbound I-15 lanes through the week of Sunday, January 24th through Saturday, January 30th. Construction crews are continuing day and night work including shoulder shoulder reconstruction.
A traffic lane split is installed on the northbound lanes between Kenwood Avenue and Cleghorn Road. The traffic lane split will allow crews to replace the #2 and #3 lanes. CalTrans officials said that the work should take about 12 weeks weather permitting.
A traffic lane split is scheduled to be installed on January 27th on the southbound I-15 lanes from about 1 mile south of Cleghorn Road to 2 miles north of Kenwood Avenue. This will also allow for the replacement of inside lanes and should continue for 4-6 weeks depending on weather conditions.
There will be alternating lane closures on the northbound I-15 between Kenwood Avenue and Oak Hill Road from Monday through Friday from 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 a.m. Alternating lane closures will also impact the southbound 1-15 lanes between Oak Hill Road and Kenwood Avenue. This closure will remain in effect from Monday to Friday from 8:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. Cal Trans officials said that no detours will be necessary as other lanes of traffic on the northbound 1-15 will remain open to traffic.
Alternating ramp closures will be on the southbound 138 on and off ramps from Monday through Friday 8:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. Detours are as follows: For the off-ramp drivers should take southbound I-15 to Cleghorn Road turn left and merge onto northbound I-15 and exit hwy 138. The northbound and southbound on and off-ramps will also experience closures from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. CalTrans officials said the you can continue to drive northbound on the I-15, exit Oak Hill Road turn left and merge onto southbound I-15 and exit 138. For the on-ramp you can take the 1-15 to Cleghorn Drive turn left and merge onto the northbound I-15.
CalTrans reminds motorists that no two consecutive ramps will be closed at once. The Alternating ramp closures will affect the southbound Cleghorn Road on-ramp.will be closed from Monday through Friday from 9:00 p.m. Motorists can use the southbound Kenwood Avenue on-ramp in Devore.
The northbound Oak Hill Road ramp will be closed from Monday through Friday from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. From Oak Hill Road go left on Mariposa Road, then left on Ranchero Road and left on the I-15 on-ramp at Ranchero Road. The southbound Oak Hill Road on-ramp will also experience closures from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. From Oak Hill Road go left on Mariposa Road then left on Ranchero Road and left on the I-15 on-ramp at Ranchero Road.
Cal Trans officials remind motorists the the shoulder along the project limits is for emergency vehicles, automobiles blocking emergency responses vehicles may be cited.
