Cajon Pass open in both directions with CHP escorts, major traffic

CAJON PASS, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The Cajon Pass is open in both directions with escorts Thanksgiving evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At about 5:20 pm, Victorville CHP posted the updated and reminded motorists not to attempt taking alternate routes which include dirt roads because you will get stuck.

The I-15 freeway from Hesperia through the pass and down to Glen Helen has been nothing short of a nightmare for people driving for the holiday. Many motorists.

Traffic on the southbound side is reported to be moving at 5mph near Highway 138.

As of 6:00 pm, the snow continues to fall at the top of the pass. Temperatures in the Victor Valley are expected to dip to the low 30’s with even more snowfall predicted at about 11:00 pm tonight.

People coming home on the northbound I-15 have reported being stuck in traffic for 4-7 hours!
