CAJON PASS-(VVNG.com): On July 20th concrete removal on the I-15 southbound is set to begin and k-rail installation will continue (weather permitting).
On Monday, August 3rd, concrete paving operations are set to begin. Caltrans wants to remind drivers that commercial vehicles (trucks), vehicles pulling trailers, or busses are NOT allowed in the crossover lanes. These lanes will be narrow with limited areas to pull off for emergencies so drivers are advised to stay on the mainline lanes if they think they may need to utilize the shoulder.
There is no access to the Highway 138 or the Cleghorn off ramp from the crossover lanes. For the week of July 19th through July 25th there will be lane closures on the northbound I-15 lanes Monday through Friday night 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 a.m. and Saturday 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 a.m. There is no detour necessary since other northbound lanes will remain open to traffic.
For southbound lanes, there will be closures between Oak Hill Road and Kenwood Avenue on Monday July 20th through Friday July 24th from 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 a.m. and Saturday, July 25th from 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. No detours will be necessary since other southbound lanes will remain open to traffic.
