
Homicide investigators arrest two suspects believed to be involved in the murder of Justin Neil Schalk.
On Monday, April 14, 2014, at 12:00 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department – Victor Valley Station were dispatched to the report of a vehicle fire near Stoddard Wells Road and Lucerne Valley Cutoff.
When deputies arrived they discovered a smoldering burnt vehicle in the open desert. Upon further examination, human remains were located inside the vehicle. The Sheriff’s Homicide and Arson/Bomb details were requested.
On Friday, April 18, 2014, the human remains found inside the burning vehicle were positively identified as 40-year-old Justin Neil Schalk a resident of Los Angeles.
On Saturday, April 19, 2014, Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators served a search warrant at the 11100 block of Pipeline Avenue in the unincorporated area of Montclair.
Investigators arrested Sean Allen Briskey, 30 and Major Austin, 31, both residents of Montclair.
Both subjects were later booked at Central Detention Center for PC 187(a) – Murder. Additional charges are pending.
