Burglary suspect who stole food arrested with help of video surveillance

BARSTOW, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 35-year-old Barstow man was arrested after he was caught on a surveillance camera breaking into a residence and taking food before leaving out the back door, officials said.
It happened on January 15, 2020, at about 8:00 am in the 1000 block of Elizabeth Street in Barstow.
Barstow Police dispatch center received a call from a person who stated that she was away from her residence at this time, but the video system at her house was showing an unknown subject inside, officials said.
The caller also advised that the unknown subject took food items from the residence and then left out the back door.
Officers located the suspect, identified as Larnell Battle, approximately 1 hour later in a nearby field. He was arrested for residential burglary.
In an attempt to gain more information and/or evidence linking Battle to the residential burglary, officers visited his home and made contact with two people inside who were found to have outstanding warrants for their arrest, officials said.
Stephanie Jackson, 26, was arrested for outstanding warrants for driving while under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended driver’s license and Bryan Turner, 39, was arrested for an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended.
